SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 2004--REMEC, Inc. (Nasdaq:REMC) today announced it will feature a number of products for coverage enhancement at CTIA Wireless 2004. REMEC's dual Universal Mobile Telecommunications Service (UMTS) tower mounted amplifier (TMA) provides low-noise amplification for up-link or reverse link communications. This compact TMA is ideally suited for deployment with dual polarization antennas. It allows remote electrical tilt of each associated antenna using the Antenna Interface Standards Group's (AISG's) open protocol between the dual TMA and antennas. Like all REMEC TMA's, it features fully immersible IP68 construction, for superior reliability in harsh environments. REMEC will demonstrate a TMA operating fully submerged in an aquarium tank in our booth for the duration of the CTIA show. REMEC will also showcase its 1900 MHz dual single carrier power amplifier booster product. The DPA 4040E is ideal for downlink or forward link coverage enhancement. A compact "suitcase" cabinet will house up to six DPA 4040E units capable of boosting 12 carriers to 90 watts for a single carrier per antenna operation. An integral two-to-one hybrid combiner can be used to combine two carriers and provide 35 watts to a single antenna. REMEC's booster products complement the TMA offerings for applications requiring coverage improvement in both the forward and reverse links -- the "Balanced Link" solution.
