(Nasdaq:REMC) today announced that it has joined the WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) Forum(TM) (www.wimaxforum.com), an industry consortium established to accelerate the development and deployment of interoperable Broadband Wireless Access equipment built upon global standards. REMEC is working with leading chipset providers to enable support of the IEEE 802.16a WirelessMAN standard on its next-generation ExcelAir(R) 70 platform.
